	The Pentagon pulled decades of classified documents from an internal system.

• What we know: The files were removed after The Post published a story detailing military officers’ concerns about the Iran war. The internal system is commonly used by officers.

• Zooming out: The Trump administration has taken numerous steps to prevent leaks to the media. It has also subpoenaed reporters and imposed polygraph tests on personnel.

President Donald Trump is giving the Secret Service nearly everything it wants.

• As he fortifies the White House: Trump is supporting a list of changes resisted by past presidents. Today, officials will present plans to permanently fence Lafayette Square.

• Earlier this year: The Trump administration planted a pair of controversial genetically modified American chestnut trees near the White House, igniting a fierce scientific debate.

Republicans fear Trump will keep his super PAC money for his own purposes.

• As the midterms near: Anxious Republicans are hoping Trump’s super PAC, which had more than $400 million on hand as of July 31, will come to the rescue in crucial contests.
