Back in August, you might remember me talking about the Claude Bootcamp. One day, live, 100 people, two 90-minute sessions building Claude from the ground up. It sold out and we had a ton of fun.

IWAI’s Claude Masterclass is that, and a lot more.

The bootcamp sessions are now Chapter 1. Then the 100 people who were in the room told me what they wanted more of – more depth on Skills, more actual building, more on what to do when something breaks – and I spent the last few weeks turning their answers into 25 more lessons. It’s seven chapters and 27 lessons now, starting at “what is an agent” and ending with a working app and a website you publish to the live internet.

A few questions I’ve been getting this week:

Is it live, or can I watch any time? Self-paced, start to finish. Nothing is scheduled and nothing expires. Take it in one weekend or over two months, you call.

How long does it take? About 12 to 15 hours all in. That’s the full run of material plus the time to build alongside us, not just watch. Chapter 1 is the core at roughly 3 hours, and the rest is shorter lessons and the hands-on work. You do it in pieces, whenever you like.

Do I need to be technical? No. This is designed entirely for non-techies. Nothing in it asks you to write code, including Chapter 7, where you build a real app with a database behind it. If you can use a word processor and a browser, you can do all of it.

I already use Claude every day. Will it be too basic? Chapter 1 starts at the vocabulary on purpose, because that’s the part that trips people up. If you already know what an agent is and what MCP does, you might skip the first lesson and then go deep: Skill anatomy and repair, OAuth scopes, context engineering, and how to verify a system that can hand you a different answer every time. That said, if you’re already an engineer building your own custom MCP servers, this Masterclass isn’t for you.

What do I need to run it? A paid Claude plan for the hands-on parts, and the cheapest is $20 a month. That’s Anthropic’s rule, not mine. On the free tier you can still follow along but your features will be limited.

Will it keep getting updated? Yes. Claude changes regularly, so we will refresh the lessons over time, and your lifetime access includes those updates. You’re not just buying a snapshot of how Claude worked the week you joined.

How does it compare to your flagship programs? It’s deliberately more compact and entirely self-paced, no cohort, no calls, no schedule. But it’s not lightweight in terms of teaching. It’s held to the same standard as our flagship programs, built the same way by the same people. Same quality, in a smaller package you take on your own time.

And my favorite question – why learn here, as opposed to surfing the web?

Well, you’ve probably already tried several of these solutions. I have too. That’s why we build things differently here at Innovating with AI.

So let’s take a quick tour of the options…

YouTube. There are a few real gems on there. But YouTube makes its money when you keep watching, so every part of it is built to keep you clicking, not to get you finished. You wade through a pile of junk and distraction for each gem, and the AI videos go stale fast, so a clip from six months ago may walk you through a menu that no longer exists. It’s unordered, it’s confusing, and it’s mixed in with all sorts of algorithmic nonsense.

Anthropic’s own docs. Free, so start there if you like. But so much of Claude is barely documented at all. Whole features ship with no walkthrough, half the vocabulary goes unexplained, and you end up finding the most powerful parts by accident, or never. What documentation does exist is built to get you using more, so it’ll never tell you which model wastes your allowance, or warn you about the bugs, quirks and gotchas we cover in the Masterclass.

The influencer threads & giant course libraries. All hat, no cattle. Big followings, thin substance, and a suspicious number of them were crypto influencers the week before. You get a prompt to paste, not a system to understand, so the next time the task shifts a little, you’re back at zero.

The Masterclass is the opposite of all of them: one path, on one tool, in the order that makes each piece explain the next, taught by people who run it on a real business every day.
