SEPT. 3, 2026 — The U.S. Census Bureau today released the full dataset from the 2024 Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES), offering a single, comprehensive annual snapshot of U.S. employer businesses.
The AIES provides economic data, including business revenue, expenses, payroll and employment at detailed geographies. Today’s release includes data at the national, regional and divisional levels, with state-level estimates available for selected sectors. Sectors are based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS).
The AIES covers domestic, private sector and nonfarm employer businesses (those with paid employees) in operation for at least some part of 2024, located in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia, and classified in one of the 19 in-scope sectors defined by the 2017 NAICS.
