Diagnosis Code Topics

Proposals for diagnosis code topics will be presented virtually by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and are scheduled for both days, September 15-16, 2026. The final agenda and meeting materials for the diagnosis code topics to be discussed at the virtual meeting will be posted on the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/icd/icd-10-maintenance/meetings.html.

Deadlines Reminder:

October 16, 2026 is the deadline for receipt of public comments on proposed new codes, addenda, and revisions being considered for implementation on April 1, 2027.
November 13, 2026 is the deadline for receipt of public comments on proposed new codes, addenda, and revisions being considered for implementation on October 1, 2027.

Comments on procedure code topics should be directed to CMS at ICDProcedureCodeRequest@cms.hhs.gov.

Comments on diagnosis code topics should be directed to NCHS at nchsicd10cm@cdc.gov.
