On June 28, 2026, a law addressing fair wages, employment incentives, and the protection of digital workers entered into effect. Law No. 112 of June 25, 2026, converted into law and amended Decree-Law No. 62 of April 30, 2026 (D.L. No. 62).Fair Wages Article 36 of Italy’s constitution enshrines the right of workers to “remuneration proportional to the quantity and quality of their work.” The new legislation provides that the benchmarks for determining fair wages under article 36 will be the collective bargaining agreements entered into by the most representative employers’ and workers’ organizations at the national level most comparable to the relevant sector, the type of work in question, and the size and legal nature of the employer.
