Quick question:
Since 2022 (when ChatGPT first came out)…
Have you gotten smarter?
Have you felt your thinking capacity increase?
Or are you feeling the opposite?
- Do you find yourself “relying” on AI more and more?
- Do you feel like your clarity of thought has gone DOWN?
- Do you feel like these new technologies are making you dumber?
We have surveyed thousands of writers inside our various programs, and over and over again we’ve heard people say:
- “AI is ruining my ability to think.”
- “I’ve become too reliant upon AI.”
- “As AI gets more capable, I feel myself becoming less capable.”
- “AI feels like a crutch, and I’m worrying I’m depending on it too much.”
Sound familiar?
Well, it’s not looking good:
This is a crazy new problem society is grappling with.
But there’s a very easy solution:
YOU NEED TO WRITE.
Write the first draft of anything:
- An idea you have
- A story you want to share
- A lesson you think people would benefit from
AI can’t do that for you.
But the robots can help you do everything else (like republishing, creating new media, and remixing your content).
Because it’s not that AI is:
- Bad
- Or wrong
- Or ineffective
AI is incredible at many, many things.
But AI isn’t very good at reading your mind.
You can’t clarify your thinking by asking AI to think for you.
Or, as we like to say in our AI Writing Skool:
“You can’t automate what you can’t articulate.”
Your ability to prompt reflects your clarity of thought.
And clarity is achieved through writing.
So, come join us for the next Ship 30 cohort.
Writing isn’t just about:
- Building your personal brand
- Or building an audience
- Or even making money
The primary value of writing is quite literally having a mechanism to clarify your own thinking.
