Every now and then, it’s healthy for us media types to get out of the newsroom and remind everyone that, yes, there are actual human beings behind all those stories, headlines, editorials and emails. So that’s what we’re doing on Friday.

The Anchorage Daily News is hosting a reader meet and greet from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at SteamDot Coffee in Midtown Mall, 600 E. Northern Lights Blvd. ADN editor Vicky Ho, myself and some members of the staff will be there, coffee in hand and ready to chat.

There’s no agenda, no speeches and no rambling presentation — just an informal opportunity for you to stop in, say hello, ask questions, tell us what you think we’re doing right, tell us what you think we’re doing wrong or simply satisfy your curiosity about the folks behind the words.

These meetups are always a good reminder that journalism works best when there’s a conversation between the people producing it and the people reading it. So come have a cup and say hi. We’d love to see you.
