A Parliamentary Delegation at BGY

SACBO President Giovanni Sanga, together with Rosa Pastena – Ryanair Head of Public Affairs Italy – and Alessandro Cianciaruso – CEO of SEAS – welcomed a delegation of Members of Parliament from the Transport Committees of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to Milan Bergamo Airport. The delegation was led by Hon. Salvatore Deidda and included MPs Enrico Cappelletti, Vinicio Peluffo, Alessandro Sorte and Andrea Tremaglia, Senator Giampietro Maffoni, as well as the mayors of Orio al Serio and Azzano San Paolo, Alessandro Colletta and Sergio Suardi.

The delegation visited the aircraft maintenance facilities operated by SEAS in the northern area of Milan Bergamo Airport, as well as the Aircraft Engineering Academy, a centre of excellence for aviation training. During the visit, they also had the opportunity to learn about the advanced procedures in place at SACBO’s Airport Operations Centre.

BGY, on the move for European Mobility Week

During European Mobility Week, BGY promoted several initiatives focused on sustainable mobility, involving employees and their families. From the informal gathering with colleagues who choose to cycle to work every day to Bike & Fly, a 35 km bike ride through some of the most scenic places in the Bergamo area, together with FIAB guides.

An opportunity to share experiences, discover the local area and reaffirm a commitment that also starts with our everyday choices. A journey that confirms Milan Bergamo Airport’s commitment to sustainable mobility, also through its “Bike Friendly” certification.

BGY has announced the transfer to ARPA Lombardia of the management of the new monitoring station installed in 2025 on Via Lagrange, in the Colognola district. Since January 2026, the station has been measuring the main air pollutants. The initial data confirm the findings already recorded by ARPA Lombardia during the monitoring campaign conducted prior to its installation. From October, thanks to a five-year agreement, ARPA Lombardia will continue to manage and process the data, integrating them into the regional monitoring network. The monitoring campaigns carried out over the years have provided a picture that is broadly consistent with the data recorded by the other stations in the regional network, with no evidence that airport activities play a dominant role in the levels of the main pollutants compared with overall air quality. This represents another step in the Airport Air Quality Monitoring Plan, which the airport has been carrying out for years together with ARPA Lombardia and local municipalities and which has already included more than 30 measurement campaigns.
