Stellantis has developed a system that enables the emergency ejection of an electric vehicle's high-voltage battery. In hazardous situations such as fire or overheating, the system can physically and electrically disconnect the battery, using mechanisms such as sliding frame sections or even pyrotechnic devices to drop it from the vehicle. The approach aims to quickly eliminate the source of danger posed by a compromised battery during emergencies.
