The FCPS Office of Safety and Security and Safe Routes to School program are asking families to share their experiences traveling to and from their child’s school. The feedback will help inform the Fairfax County School Board’s annual assessment of traffic and pedestrian safety near schools.
The Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Survey asks about walking and biking routes, traffic near schools, kiss-and-ride experiences, accessibility, and other safety concerns.
Your feedback will help FCPS identify common issues. Your responses will be kept confidential and shared with school administrators and the Office of Safety and Security. The five-minute survey is open through Thursday, October 15.
Be sure to identify the school related to your feedback and include specific locations where you have observed a safety issue. If you have students at different schools in FCPS, please complete a different survey for each school.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact SafeRoutestoSchool@fcps.edu.
PTA News
Fall Festival on October 17
Bring the whole family to Camelot’s annual Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Your $5 admission fee includes scavenger hunts, face painting, bounce houses, magic shows, and more! To make this beloved Camelot tradition a success, we need your help! Whether you can volunteer for an hour or stay longer, every helping hand makes a difference. Please sign up to volunteer to ensure this year's festival is the best one yet.
Currently, we have just 81 families and teachers who have joined the PTA, and our goal is 150 families and teachers. So many teachers have already joined–thank you, teachers! Please note that PTA memberships must be renewed annually, so even if you were a member last year, you'll want to sign up again for this school year! For just $10, your membership is a simple yet powerful way to support our students and teachers. You can join or renew your PTA membership here.
All of the money that we raise directly supports the special programs that make our school great:
- Ice Cream Night and other events that build up our community
- Buying a book for every single child at the end of the year
- Subsidizing field trips to keep them affordable for families
- Reimbursing teachers up to $110 for the classroom supplies they purchase out of pocket
