Back in August, a federal court ruled the NFA unconstitutional for suppressors, SBRs, and SBSs. Silencer Shop Foundation was the lead plaintiff. Today, October 9, the ATF announced official guidance.

Here is the plain version. In the free states, there is no Form 4, no Form 1, no registry, and no ATF wait; for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs. You fill out a 4473, pass your background check, and take it home. The one thing worth knowing is that not every dealer is set up for it yet, so make sure you check your dealer.

If your state still has NFA rules on the books, we handle the paperwork for you, same as always. If you are in a state that still bans these, we have not stopped working to change that.
