bike to school

We had a beautiful fall morning where students could walk, bike and scoot to school. Some of our students met up with Fairfax County police officers who were giving out stickers. Thank you to everyone for promoting safe transport to and from school everyday. If you haven't filled out the Traffic & Pedestrian survey (see article below), please do so by next Thursday.

A Message from Ms. Consolla

I'm overflowing with pride and joy at this week's announcement from the Virginia Department of Education: According to the official Virginia School Quality Profiles, Fort Hunt achieved the highest performance rating level of "Distinguished" with a framework score of 90.74. The state system provides information about our school’s performance on academic and readiness measures. The framework places emphasis on standardized test results, alongside student growth, and readiness measures that vary by school level.

I want to be clear in saying that our students are much more than the results of standardized tests and point systems. Every day in our classrooms, our amazing educators are leading moments of joy in learning. This recognition reflects the strength of our entire school community. Our strong performance stands out and is something to celebrate.

We will continue building on this success. Our team is committed to keeping high expectations for learning, supporting each student’s unique strengths, and creating a school environment where every child feels welcomed, challenged, and cared for. We are also grateful for the support we receive from families. Your involvement makes a difference, and it plays an important role in helping our students succeed.

Being partners means sharing information. If you have not scheduled your parent-teacher conference with your child's AM teacher, please do so in the next week. I have instructed all AM teachers to meet with their students' families. They will coordinate with the PM teacher to either join in or to pass along information to share with you. Thank you in advance for arriving on time. If you need any assistance with scheduling that conference, don't hesitate to reach out to me or Dr. Triplett.

Thank you for your partnership in your child's education at Fort Hunt.

Jean
