Hey a, The other week during a one-to-one coaching session with an Italian student of mine, he picked up on something really interesting about the way I speak. "Emma, why do you sometimes not pronounce the H?" I was confused at first, so I asked "What do you mean?" He said: "Well you just said 'I went with im to the airport', but my teacher in school told me to always say 'him' and not to remove the H because it sounds too Italian" As a pronunciation coach, I always find it so interesting (and saddening) when students tell me their previous teachers taught them something that turns out to be completely UNTRUE.
