President Donald Trump said the government will not livestream the firing-squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan — contradicting an announcement last week by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

While publicly streaming Hasan’s execution “might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan,” Trump said in a Truth Social post, “many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device.”

The Army is set to execute Hasan by firing squad on Dec. 3, and families of his victims will be able to watch in person, Trump said. Hasan killed 13 people and injured 32 others during an attack at Fort Hood in 2009.
