Announcements
VHSL Multimedia Championships -
Our media students did a great job representing CHS at the VHSL Multimedia Championships at Harrisonburg on Oct. 19. The following awards were won by publications and individuals:
- Savedge Award for Continued Excellence – Odyssey yearbook
- Trophy Class Award – Odyssey yearbook
- Trophy Class Award – The Purple Tide newsmagazine
- First Class Award – Andromeda literary magazine
- 3rd place for Sports News –Mark Hessel
In addition, all of our students at the event participated in the on-site contests and won awards:
- 1st Place for Editorial Writing - Cedric Tchommo
- 1st Place for Editorial Cartooning - Rachel Neathery
- 1st place for Caption Writing - Hansika Gautama
- 3rd Place for Editorial Writing - Advik Sood
- Honorable Mention for News Writing - Lizzie Sun
- Honorable Mention for Poetry - Gayda Makki
Marching Band -
Your Mighty Marching Chargers competed this weekend in the Oakton Classic, earning a score of 92.55 and 1st place in class and 3rd overall of 29 bands. Additional recognitions included class awards for Best Music, Best Visual, Best General Effect, and Best Percussion. The last opportunities to catch the MMCs performing locally are at 8:30pm the next two Wednesdays for our stadium runs or Saturday, 10/26 at Patriot HS (4:15pm) for our State Marching Assessment.

Congratulations to Mimi Mambu who was named to the Under Armour All-American Game. She is one of twenty-six players selected to this game which will be help in Orlando.

Boys Soccer Interest Meeting will be held right after school on Tuesday, November 19th in the Cafeteria. Contact Coach Kouakam @jkouakam@fcps.edu if you are unable to attend.
