Starting this week, crews will be conducting maintenance work on the shelters on the Crystal City Potomac Yard Transitway on Richmond Highway/Route 1 and Crystal Drive.
This work will include power washing, digital sign upgrades, replacing benches, and other tasks to keep the stations in good repair.
The stops in this project are:
- South Glebe Road & Richmond Highway/Route 1
- Crystal Drive & 33rd Street South
- Crystal Drive & 27th Street South
- Crystal Drive & 23rd Street South
- Crystal Drive & 18th Street South
What to Expect During Construction
Crews will conduct tasks to each bus stop and then repeat the cycle with subsequent tasks.
Bus service will remain open as construction is in progress, and flagging operations will guide buses through stops as needed. Construction is expected to last 4-6 weeks.

No one wants a vehicle speeding by while they’re at work. Slow down in work zones!
The 22202 area is no stranger to construction on the road. Work zones involve large equipment, traffic pattern changes, lane closures, uneven pavement, variable speed limits, and – most importantly – workers.
When driving near a work zone, lookout for workers, adhere to all signage, and put away all distractions so you're totally aware of your surroundings.
Remember, orange cones, put down the phone.
