Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss ongoing efforts to de-escalate regional tensions. The Secretary and Foreign Minister discussed the importance of bringing the war in Gaza to an end, securing the release of all hostages, and alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. They also discussed efforts to reach a diplomatic resolution to the conflict across the Blue Line that fully implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The Secretary thanked the Foreign Minister for the UAE’s continued provision of humanitarian aid for both Gaza and Lebanon.
