Fall Festival is kind of a big deal

Fall Carnival

Fall festival is right around the corner and we need your help to make it a success! We have lots of fun games planned, concessions, a "treat" walk, and not one but two inflatables! Please consider volunteering your time before, during, or after the event. See the sign up genius for all the opportunities to help. This year's proceeds will fund fun new instruments for the music program, teacher appreciation events and teacher wish list items, as well as other requests that come up throughout the year.

PRE-ORDERS are LIVE! The order form will come home in your child's Tuesday folder or you can preorder on Givebacks. Paper pre orders are due Wednesday 10/23, but you can continue to order online until Saturday 10/26. Prices will go up on the day of the event! Limited quantities of extra food!

Down Syndrome Awareness Month is an opportunity to unite as a community and make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome.

Advocacy is one of the most powerful ways to contribute to Down Syndrome Awareness Month. When we raise our voices in support of individuals with Down syndrome, we help shape a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.

Ways to Support and Raise Awareness:

Wear Blue and Yellow: Blue and yellow are the official colors of Down syndrome awareness. Show your support by wearing these colors throughout the month, whether through clothing, accessories, or ribbons!

Rock your socks: To celebrate awareness and acceptance of all people with Down syndrome, we are asking students and parents to ROCK "MISMATCHED" SOCKS at the Fall Festival on October 29th. The "MISMATCHED" socks represent the three copies of chromosome 21.

Bike Rodeo

Come learn about bike safety at the annual Tour de Mount Vernon Bike Ride with the first-ever bike rodeo on Saturday, October 19! This will be a great way for children to learn about helmet safety, practice stopping for pedestrians and cars, all while having fun in the process! A South County High School student is doing this as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. See flier for more information about the Bike Rodeo, the Youth and Family Ride, and the longer adult rides around the Mount Vernon district.
