ChatGPT is little help for doctors in diagnosing diseases, a study found.

• What to know: The AI chatbot did not significantly improve doctors’ diagnostic reasoning compared with doctors who used only traditional resources in a recent experiment.
• One twist: The study also found that ChatGPT on its own performed better than either group of physicians. Hospitals have been investing more in artificial intelligence tools.
