With over 55 attendees, the Fairfax Food Council’s cross-pollination meeting brought together the Urban Agriculture Work Group and the Food Access & Literacy Work Group to delve into the important topic of food waste diversion.

The Partnership for a Healthier Fairfax is seeking nominations for its 2025 Live Healthy Fairfax Award. This award recognizes individuals, businesses, government, and organizations – both public and private – that have demonstrated exemplary supportive leadership and action to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and populations in the Fairfax community. The three areas of focus are:
- Behavioral Health
- Healthy Eating
- Healthy Environment and Active Living

All are welcome to attend the Partnership for a Healthier Fairfax 2024 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. The meeting will be held in Room 2/3 at the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA, 22035).

Cornerstones is looking for a Warehouse Manager for its new Food Hub. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for directing the day-to-day supervision of warehouse operations, staff, contractors, and others in service to the Food Hub. The Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, and monitors the safe receipt, storage, and retrieval of donated or purchased goods, utilizing inventory management software.

Food For Others' Neighborhood Sites program offers distribution of fresh foods directly to families in high-need communities. They are currently in need of volunteer drivers to support this program on weekday evenings by picking up food from their warehouse and assisting with distributions.
