Round 4 applications open for Tiers 1, 3 and representative bodies

The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) online portal remains open for the following grant categories: 

• Tier 1 – ready to export 
• Tier 3 - exporting to new key markets 
• Representative bodies.

It will remain open until all funds are allocated. This may happen quickly, so don't delay.

Even if you lodge your application prior to the closure of the online portal, you may not be successful. This is because the grant funding may have been already fully allocated to other applicants.

Check your eligibility

It’s important you understand the eligibility criteria before you apply. You must apply for the relevant tier when you submit your application. You’ll need to choose a tier based on your exporting status, business goals and eligibility. You must be expanding your marketing and promotional activities (i.e. you must be doing more than you have before as the grant is for new expanding activity). 

Read the guidelines

You must read the guidelines even if you have received a grant before. Remember, significant changes have been made to the program. You can check the guidelines to see if you’re eligible to apply under the new rules.

EMDG – next steps

EMDG is a demand-driven grant opportunity. We will assess and award grants to eligible applicants in order of application receipt.

Even if you lodged your application prior to the closure of the online portal, you may not be successful. This is because the grant funding may have been already fully allocated to other grant recipients.

If you receive a grant offer, you must accept your grant agreement via the EMDG online portal. You must do this before the deadline specified in your letter of offer.
