Our latest auction yesterday raised over £40m, bringing our total so far in 2024 to £735m across 15 sales, with a further 100 lots to be offered in our auction next week and a final date for the year on 11 December, for which we are still taking instructions. The full results of the sale can be viewed here.
Highlights of the sale included a retail parade in Harrogate (Lot 93) which sold for £2.75m, a country house in Faygate (Lot 26) which achieved £2.6m, and a mixed use investment in Chiswick (Lot 94) selling for £1.2m. The Sutton Ambulance Station (Lot 102) sold for £915,000 and a mixed use property comprising a shop on the ground floor and flat, in Balham achieved £1m.
As always, well priced stock attracted strong interest and therefore strong competitive bidding. On the commercial and development side there was a very strong performance with good interest in higher value stock, often with asset management or a development angle. The renewed interest in development opportunities signals medium term positivity in the market.
