A note from our ABC Illawarra editor | |
Have you ever made a new friend later in life? ABC Illawarra Mornings presenter Nick Rheinberger recently visited Diggers Aged Care in Corrimal where he had a wonderful conversation with 106-year-old David Napper and his friend 101-year-old Henry Harley. Both have been widowed and are now in aged care and have found a "reserved" sense of companionship since meeting at their new home. It's a must-listen-to conversation. Pictured above is Nick interviewing Henry.
As I mentioned last week, we had a visit from Albion Park's Olympic silver medallist Jess Hull. Have a read of our story about how she is inspiring the next generation of Iocal Olympic hopefuls.
Have a great week, and remember, if you have a story idea drop an email to 973@your.abc.net.au.
