Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met today with Chairman Lê Hoài Trung of the Communist Party of Vietnam External Relations Committee in Washington, D.C. The Secretary and Chairman reaffirmed the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States while also seeking ways to further strengthen relations between both countries. They discussed the need to maintain a free, open, and stable Indo-Pacific region. The Secretary and the Chairman agreed to continue to seek ways to enhance cooperation between our two countries.
