Hollin Meadows Hornet Community,
Happy New Year! It is so nice to have all of our students and staff back in the building. I am sure that 2025 will be a great year for all of us! Most of our students are already engaged in writing goals for the rest of the school year. Our Morning Meetings in the classrooms as well as our K-2nd and 3rd-6th Community Meetings this week were all about resetting using Responsive Classroom. Our staff are working hard to teach the Benchmark Reading Curriculum, science, math, and so on.
As a reminder we really need for parents to use the Kiss and Ride drop off and pick up lane at arrival and dismissal. It is very unsafe to park across the school and walk over when we have buses and heavy traffic. We have received a lot of complaints from the neighbors who live on Nordok regarding this issue. Please help us keep everyone safe and refrain from parking on Nordok Place. Everyone should use the Kiss and Ride section. We have HMES staff and patrols who are stationed to assist students. I am attaching an image so everyone can see the gridlock I am referring to when buses are trying to pass and cars are parked on Nordok.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We love our Hornet students, staff, and families and want to keep everyone safe.
Sincerely,
Proud Principal Jasibi Crews
