January 17 - News and Notes!

Rolling Valley Families,

It was fantastic to have a full week of school and get everyone back into their daily routines! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great PTA meeting on Monday. We're also thrilled to celebrate with you at the Light Up Luau this evening—it's going to be a fun-filled event!

Looking ahead, the weather forecast shows colder temperatures next week. Please remind your students to grab their coats before heading to school. If your child has misplaced a coat, please check our Lost and Found, which is overflowing with items waiting to be claimed! If any families need assistance with winter gear, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly—we’re here to help.

Lastly, a quick reminder: there is no school on Monday, January 20, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Wishing you a wonderful long weekend—stay safe and stay warm!

Day of Service

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday

On the third Monday of January, people throughout the United States join in honoring the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As we witness nations around the world continue to struggle under the weight of violence, hate, and poverty, today’s social, political, and economic landscape reveals the urgent necessity of Dr. King’s philosophy and methodology of Nonviolence (Nonviolence365™). This history is a foundational part of American history.

Students deserve meaningful, sustained opportunities to learn about the experiences and contributions of Dr. King year-round, and the celebration of a Day of Service is an opportunity to honor his work and legacy by actively participating in making our communities cleaner, safer, and more welcoming.
