A Message From Principal Clarke

Mrs. Clarke

Dear Beech Tree Families,

Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you warm and cozy during this frigid week. It was truly wonderful to have our students and staff back together in the building. I have to take a moment to acknowledge our amazing custodial staff. They did an incredible job getting our school ready after the snowstorm. We are so appreciative of their hard work.

Our students returned and are already engaged in setting their goals for the remainder of the school year, along with participating in iReady testing. Teachers are diligently instructing the Benchmark curriculum, math, science and social studies standards.

As winter is upon us, please remember to send your child to school with a hat, gloves, and a coat. Classes will go outside for recess on most days. If you require assistance in obtaining any of these items, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Quinto, our Family Liaison, or contact the main office. You may also contact Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges faced, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health care.

Last night’s PTA Bingo was a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together. It was delightful to see everyone enjoying the game and celebrating with enthusiastic shouts of "BINGO!" It was a warm respite from the cold.

Monday, January 20th schools and offices will be closed to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We will welcome our students and staff on Tuesday, January 21st when we reopen.

I wish you all a wonderful extended weekend!

Thank you for your partnership in education

With appreciation,

Principal Clarke
