A Lion's Tale

M Counts

Greetings Laurel Ridge Families,

It has been wonderful to have a full week of school with our students with many exciting learning activities.  Congratulations to Mr. Barger and the 4th, 5th, and 5th grade Strings classes on a phenomenal Winter Concert!  We welcome our new part-time Strings teacher, Ms. Sharkey.  It is great to have so many students engaged in our music programs.

Several Laurel Ridge staff members were recognized this morning as Region 4 winners of the November FCPS Cares of the Month Award.  This award showcased the trust and teamwork of staff members to coordinate care for a family during a difficult time.  For me, this highlights just a small part of the magic that happens at Laurel Ridge every day.  Thank you to the family for submitting this recognition.  If you would like to recognize a Laurel Ridge staff member for an FCPS Cares recognition, please use this link.

Have a wonderful long weekend!

❄️ Be Among the First to Hear About School Delays/Closings

Watch this video to see how FCPS makes weather closing decisions

FCPS’ website is generally the first place to find out about emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible, including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.

Be among the first to hear about weather delays and closings! Update your contact information in SIS ParentVUE. Emails and text messages are sent to parents and caregivers based on the addresses and cell phone numbers entered on this platform.
